The Parish Council is the basic rung in the ladder of government. Its budget and its powers are limited but we believe it has a vital role in representing the interests of parishioners to other levels of government, to service providers and to various other agencies, all of which affect the life of the parish in one way or another.
The council is also involved in provision of facilities for the village. Although we are a small parish compared to many and consequently have limited provision, things like the Playing Fields, Bus Shelter and Village Hall all come under the umbrella of the Parish Council
Councillors are not paid for what they do (though out of pocket expenses can be claimed); they are councillors because they have an interest in, and a desire to serve, the community in which they live.
